Who We Are
Founded in Bend, Oregon, Prime Home Inspection was built on a simple mission: to perform home inspections that are concise, thorough, and non-alarming—the kind of balanced, high-quality service that’s often missing in the real estate industry.
Led by Dave and Carol Peterson, Prime Home Inspection combines decades of experience in both construction and real estate with a commitment to clarity, professionalism, and integrity. Their trusted local team helps clients make confident, informed decisions about their homes through residential, commercial, and phase inspections—as well as specialized services like radon testing.
Using advanced tools and clear, easy-to-navigate reports, Prime Home Inspection provides honest insight without unnecessary alarm. Meet the Team

As founder and lead inspector of Prime Home Inspection, Dave brings decades of hands-on experience from his background in construction and home repair. Before moving to Oregon, he owned and operated JD Construction in San Diego—specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodels—and Action Fix It, a successful handyman service.
Since founding Prime Home Inspection 11 years ago, Dave has built a reputation for delivering inspections that are thorough, honest, and non-alarming—helping clients feel informed and confident in their decisions.
Dave is certified by InterNACHI and OCHI, holds Radon certification, and serves as Treasurer and active member of the Central Oregon Association of Real Estate Inspectors (COAREI).
When he’s not inspecting homes, you’ll likely find him kayaking, fishing, camping, or enjoying time with his wife Carol, their family, and their dog Jaxson.

With over 20 years of experience in real estate, Carol brings a deep understanding of what homeowners, buyers, and agents value most—clear communication and dependable service. She now owns and operates Pelican Place & Company, a local candle and custom gifting business, while also overseeing daily operations at Prime Home Inspection to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Carol and her husband Dave have been married for 12 years and share their home with their beloved dog (and company mascot) Jaxson and cat, Sushi. Together they enjoy exploring all that Bend has to offer, from local trails to time with their three kids and three grandkids.

Jay’s introduction to building and construction began right out of high school, when he spent ten years working at a custom door shop, crafting pre-hung doors for high-end homes.
After a long and rewarding career in law enforcement, Jay relocated to Bend to enjoy his retirement. It was during the purchase of his new home that he met Dave and Carol, who completed his home inspection. Impressed by his background and work ethic, they invited him to train under Dave and join the Prime Home Inspection team.
Seven years later, Jay continues to bring his strong attention to detail, professionalism, and craftsmanship to every inspection.
In his free time, Jay enjoys building furniture and other wood projects in his home workshop, exploring Central Oregon’s trails, camping, traveling, and spending time with his dogs and loved ones.

David Harrell began building and remodeling homes professionally in 1999. Since then he has worked on over a hundred residential and commercial projects as a carpenter, owner/builder or general contractor. One of his last projects as a general contractor was the design and construction of a Net Zero Home.
In 2009 he was certified as a Home Energy Auditor and in 2016 he became a Licensed Home Inspector. In the last 16 years he has performed energy audits or home inspections on thousands of homes in a variety of climates. He is an experienced building science professional and has helped many homeowners repair or improve their homes acting as a consultant or a contractor.
When not working David enjoys spending time with his family, writing and recording music, and playing in the mountains.

Born and raised in Oregon, Taedra keeps Prime Home Inspection running smoothly behind the scenes. With years of administrative and office experience, she’s the friendly voice and organized mind helping manage scheduling, communication, and client coordination.
Outside of work, Taedra enjoys scrapbooking, reading, PC gaming, and creating floral arrangements. She’s married and loves spending time with her husband and daughter.

Jaxson is Prime Home Inspection’s official mascot and ultimate cheerleader! He’s never met a stranger—loving people, babies, and other dogs alike. When he’s not busy boosting team morale, you’ll find him strolling the river trail or soaking up all the snuggles he can get.
